So now that we've looked at two options for exporting files directly from Photoshop, next, we'll look at how we can use InDesign to access layer comps inside of a Photoshop file.GETTING STARTEDAdobe Photoshop CS6 is a popular image editing software that provides a work environment consistent withAdobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and other products in the Adobe Creative Suite. Now, we can save our files, send it to our clients, and they will not be prompted for opening the PDF in full-screen view.
Let's come under Initial View inside of Acrobat and let's uncheck the Open in Full Screen mode, then click OK.
I'm going to hit Command+D or Ctrl+D to bring up the open preferences. We're going to come down here and click No. Now, even though we've disabled the slideshow, Acrobat will still want to open in full-screen mode. I'll double-click this to open it up in Acrobat. Now, in the desktop, we can see the new file called myDesign.PDF. Once it's done, Photoshop will give us a dialog box letting us know that's complete. So we're going to see a process similar to what we saw in the last video, where Photoshop will go through and activate each of the layer comps, but it'll do an additional step where it will take each JPEG file, put them into a multipage PDF, and then give us a PDF of all of the different pages based on our Layer Comps panel. I'm going to uncheck this-I don't want that to happen-and then I'll choose Run. Under Slideshow Options, we have the ability to have the PDF file go into full-screen view and automatically advance through the pages after a certain amount of time.
In this dialogue box, we also have the option to save only selected layer comps, I'll leave this unchecked. Let's choose a Name, myDesign, leave it on the desktop, click Save. From this dialog box, I'll choose Browse. So from Photoshop CS6, let's come up to the File menu, let's come down and choose Scripts, and let's choose Layer Comps to PDF. If you're using CS4, 5, or 5.5, you can use the process we looked at in the last video, using Acrobat to create a multipage PDF file from a JPEG export. Now, if you're using Photoshop CS2, 3, or 6, you can go right to a multipage PDF file directly from Photoshop.
